The old Hollywood Video storefront on Geer Road will no longer be vacant following the grand opening of a new Dollar General store this Saturday.

With free prizes and special deals, the grand opening of Dollar General is sure to draw in scores of community members looking for great giveaways. According to the company, the first 50 adult shoppers at the store will receive $10 Dollar General gift cards while the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag alongside other great prizes.

“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” said Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development. “We hope our Turlock customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”

Earlier this year, the company brought its Dollar General Market grocery store to the west side of Turlock on Lander Avenue. With the vacant building located on Geer Road available, the Tennessee-based company opted to bring a traditional Dollar General store to town, adding to more than 10,000 stores nationwide.

Offering national name brands of household items, food, cleaning supplies, basic apparel and health products, Dollar General brings a one-stop shop with a strategic layout design to help make shopping simple for customers.

Turlock’s new Dollar General will employ approximately six to 10 people, depending on the store’s needs. Anyone interested in joining the Dollar General team can apply online at www.dollargeneral.com.

Saturday’s grand opening will begin at 8 a.m. at Dollar General, located at 2641 Geer Rd.
