The Kids Club program provides educational and fun activities for young visitors to the Stanislaus County Fair. This year, Kids Club members will also get a chance to hang out with "Sesame Street" favorites.
Kids Club members will get the chance to meet Elmo and Abby Cadabby from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on July 18. Parents must register their children for the Kids Club educational program through the fair's website to get this exclusive visit. The arch gate will be the only entrance for the Kids Club families to go through and the gate will open at 3:30 p.m. Kids not part of the Kids Club program will have a chance to meet Elmo and Abby Cadabby from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. after the fair gates open at 5 p.m.
"Kids Club Educational Program at the Stanislaus County Fair is a first place award winning program that started in 2012," said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. "The fair offers the opportunity for both students and parents to visit the fair in an educational effort to expose Stanislaus County children to the rich agricultural heritage and fair tradition that is unique to the Central Valley."
Kids Club members fill out a passport post card used to travel around the fairgrounds and answer math, science, art, livestock, and ag related questions. When kids are finished answering all their passport questions, they can turn it in to the Information Booth at the fair for a chance to win The Ultimate Family Fun Pack. All passports must be turned in by the last day of the fair, July 21, at midnight.
One child will win The Ultimate Family Fun Pack that includes:
• Four passes to California's Great America
• Four passes to Monterey Bay Aquarium
• A family pass that includes two adults and two kids to the Oakland Zoo
• Four passes to the Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco
The 2013 Stanislaus County Fair opens July 12 for a 10-day run. Discounted fair admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and the fair season pass are now on sale.
