Kid Time Fitness has an option for anyone looking to celebrate National Dance Day in Turlock.

The company will be hosting their sixth annual free dance party Saturday.

This year’s dance party will be even bigger according to President and CEO Tanaia Green.  “We want to be able to reach more people this year,” Green said. “We want to be able to hit all age groups and experience levels.”

Kid Time Fitness is partnering with other groups in the area in order to get as many people involved as they can.  Guests will be able to participate in choreography workshops, meet book character Johnny Big Ears, and even buy a cupcake from The Cupcake Lady.

Kid Time Fitness hopes that the community will use this event to realize how beneficial and effortless dancing can be.

“Dancing is so much more than just a performance,” Green said. “Dancing is something everyone can do; you don’t need to be a professional on a stage.”

In 2010, National Dance Day was established to get people dancing in order to combat obesity and maintain good health. This year, Kid Time Fitness is hoping that their dance party will simply inspire people to move.

This year’s festivities will kick off at 6 p.m. with a flash mob performance at Crane Park in Turlock. Kid Time Fitness’s dance party is open to all ages and experience levels. For more information, you can visit their website or call 345-0568.
