Local girls joined millions of others across the country this week in celebrating a century of Girl Scouts. On March 12, 1912, founder Juliette Gordon Low gathered 18 girls for the first Girl Scout meeting in Savannah, Ga. Today, 3.2 million girls are members of Girl Scouts in troops across the country.
