History of business:

Yoga only works if you show up. For nine years, that has been Anna Eshoo’s motto at I Am Yoga Wellness Studio, helping customers in their wellness journeys through a dream she saw come to life in August 2008. To celebrate the studio’s ninth anniversary, Eshoo is giving back to the community that has helped I Am Yoga thrive for nearly a decade with free yoga classes, membership deals and an open house celebration.

“Every time I walk through these doors, it’s a blessing, and my heart is so full of gratitude and love,” said Eshoo. “Over the past nine years we have grown in our community of wellness, and our ability to serve that community.”

While the teachings at I Am Yoga have always been the same, helping yogis to be aware of their bodies and have clear minds, positive changes over the years have helped the wellness studio become an epicenter for relaxation, said Eshoo. The studio now offers an increased number of yoga classes, which can include more rigorous, fat-burning sessions or calming, meditative courses, and has a diverse staff of teachers with different backgrounds, allowing for a unique experience every time a yogi steps on the mat.

“We’ve really been able to build a relationship with our clients,” said Eshoo. “When I see clients walk out the door feeling good, I feel like I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing and that I’m here for a reason.”

Along with providing yoga classes, I Am Yoga features massage therapists, facials, chiropractors, a sauna, showers and a small café where yogis can get a specially-blended herbal tea.  And while Eshoo already specializes in back care through yoga, she is currently receiving certification in yoga therapy so that she can offer even more care for clients.

Throughout the years, the support of Eshoo’s family, the studio’s teachers and the yoga community that comes to class everyday have helped I Am Yoga to thrive.

“It’s not just one person that can create something like this, it’s a collaboration of everyone allowing it to grow, allowing it to prosper and believing,” said Eshoo.

To thank the community for its support, I Am Yoga is celebrating nine years with nine days of deals. August 1 through 9 will feature deals such as an introductory week of classes for $9, discounts on monthly unlimited classes and other bundles. There will also be free classes daily during the nine featured days, and an anniversary open house will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on July 28 with a free class before the event from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.

“I would love for people who have never been here to walk through the doors,” said Eshoo. “If they have fear and aren’t sure what yoga is about, this is a great place to come and to be able to try.”
