Livestock changes and updates for 2019 Stanislaus County Fair

The Stanislaus County Fair is quickly approaching as are deadlines for livestock and other exhibitors.

The Fair kicks off this year on July 12 for its 10-day run. The 2019 Fair is seeing minor changes for the livestock exhibitors.

Online entries are available now at www.stancofair.com. All entries are due no later than 12 midnight May 16. Liability Insurance is required for 4-H, FFA and Independent Exhibitors showing Horse and Livestock.

All exhibitors showing large or small animals (excluding horse and dog) at the 2019 Stanislaus County Fair must complete their YQCA testing by the May 16 deadline. Beginning Jan. 1, 2019, the Fairs and Exposition Branch require all California Fairs junior livestock exhibitors to annually participate in the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals program, a youth education certification program on the issues of animal welfare, food safety and character education. The Stanislaus County Fair has posted the link on their website to register and go through the training.  Proof of course completion will be required for all livestock exhibitors. For more information and to register to take the course, go to http://yqca.org/.

Extended entry deadline for exhibitors is by 5 p.m. May 23.  Entry, including all required information, will be accepted with a $250 cash only late entry fee and must be paid in full at the Livestock Office.

— NEW DATE AND TIME: 51st Annual Replacement Heifer Sale is set for 2 p.m. July 14 in the Thurman Pavilion B8

—   55th Annual Beef Sale:  7 p.m.  July 19

— 55th Annual Junior Livestock Auction: July 20; Market Hogs at 8 a.m.; Poultry, Rabbits, Market Sheep and Market Goats at 9 a.m.; and Sale of Champions (Market Sheep, Goats and Swine) at 12 noon
