Lancaster Painting has a very special holiday tradition. During the Turlock company's annual Christmas gathering, the employees decide who will be the recipient of a free paint job through the Paint It Forward program.

For the past six years, Lancaster has sought nominations from the community of people or organizations which would benefit from a complimentary paint job.

"It gives us a way to give back to our community,  it helps us help those who are in need," said Lancaster Painting customer advocate Jennifer Beede.

Last year, the crew at Lancaster Painting brightened the home of Tom Lombardo, who has been reliant upon a motorized chair due to symptoms of Lou Gehrig's Disease. Other Paint It Forward recipients have included the Baker family foster home in association with Aspiranet, and the Community Continuum College.

Beede said the support they’ve received from continuing this event is overwhelming and “humbling.”

Community members have until the first week in December to nominate a family or nonprofit for the free paint job. Individuals can submit nominations by filling out the online form at www.lancasterpainting.com. Nominations can also be emailed to paintitforward@lancasterpainting.com or mailed to 228 N. Center Street, Turlock, CA 95380.
