Kirklands will be hosting grand opening celebrations on Saturday.

Residents long awaiting to explore the southern expansion of Monte Vista Crossings will finally be able to step inside the first of the stores to open this month, including Kirkland’s home décor store and Maurice’s, which offers women’s fashion.

Kirkland’s is a national specialty home décor retailer originally based in the Southeast and has since grown to over 320 stores in 35 states. With a wide range of merchandise including framed art, furniture, mirrors, candles, accent rugs, garden accessories, and an assortment of gifts, Kirkland’s offers shoppers seasonal merchandise as well as items to fill their home all year round.

“We are excited to be joining the Turlock community, this makes our 20th store in California,” said Michelle Graul, senior vice president of stores. “Customers will find incredible value in our home décor and gift items, as well as a welcoming and special shopping experience.”

Kirkland’s will be hosting grand opening celebrations on Saturday with the first 50 customers receiving a $10 gift card, as well as a free gift bag with home décor items. Free cappuccinos, espressos, lattes, hors d’oeuvres and refreshments courtesy of Village Baking Company and Café will also be served for shoppers throughout the day. First day customers will have a chance to register to win one of two $50 gift cards and will receive a free sachet with their purchase, while supplies last.

The grand opening festivities will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at 2733 Countryside Dr.

Maurice’s, an up to date fashion retailer for women of all ages and sizes, will be opening its doors on Oct. 24 with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. and grand opening festivities to follow for the first three weeks.

“We are a trendy fashion retailer, but also have useful things such as basic staple items. We’re also known for our dress pants which come in five different lengths,” said Amanda Moorhead of the soon to open Turlock Maurice’s.

Maurice’s philosophy is that fashion should be personal and fun as well as celebrate individual style. There are currently 921 Maurice’s in 45 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces. Maurice’s is a sister store of the Dress Barn which is also located in the Monte Vista Crossings complex as well as Justice, a tween apparel store slated to open its doors at Monte Vista Crossings  in upcoming months. All three stores are a part of the Ascena Retail Group, Inc. a national retailer of apparel for women and ‘tween’ girls.

There will be discounts at Maurice’s for the first three weeks of grand opening with deals such as $25 off every $75 spent. The ribbon cutting will take place at 10 a.m. on Oct. 24 at Maurice’s Turlock location at 2723 Countryside Dr.
