A semi-truck pulling a trailer full of cartons for organic milk was struck by a freight train when it got stuck on the railroad tracks Wednesday afternoon.

The collision caused quite a mess in the area of S. Daubenberger Road in Turlock, but no injuries were reported, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of the semi was attempting to cross the railroad tracks around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday when the trailer became stuck.

The driver wisely got out of the truck and it wasn’t long before a Union Pacific freight train appeared in the distance.

The conductor was not able to stop the train in time and hit the trailer with enough force to shear it off.

Debris from the trailer wreckage was scattered all over the area.
