A Turlock home already significantly damaged from a fire last year, was the scene of another fire on Saturday.

The house was unoccupied at the time and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the Turlock Fire Department.

The fire was reported at a home in the 2100 block of Mayfaire Drive around 5 a.m. Saturday.

The first firefighters to arrive at the scene found smoke and flames coming from the house and conducted an immediate search of the home for any residence.

Crews made an aggressive attack on the flames from inside the home and the fire was quickly brought under control.

Turlock Fire Department responded with Engines 31, 33 and 34, and Squad 32 along with Battalion 4 and Chief 3. The Ceres Fire Department responded with Engine 15 and Battalion 3 to assist with fire control.

The same home was damaged in a fire on Dec. 16, 2019. The fire ignited in the garage and spread to the attached home and a vehicle parked in the driveway. The residents escaped unharmed from that fire.
