A funeral service for Allen Chantland Knutson, 60, will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 27 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. He passed away at his home in Turlock after a long illness.
Allen was born in Berkeley and attended schools in Turlock. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1966. After high school, he attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Modesto Junior College before graduating from San Diego State University in 1972. In 1983, Allen met and married the love of his life, Monika. They spent 25 wonderful years together. Allen worked many years as an independent tile contractor and was a past member of the Morning Rotary Club of Turlock. Allen was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed skiing, fishing, tennis and golf. He was well-liked and personable to anyone he met.
Allen is survived by his wife, Monika Knutson of Turlock; parents, Morris and Velura Knutson of Turlock; two aunts; an uncle; and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Emanuel, 825 Delbon Ave., Turlock, CA 95382.
