Barbara was born August 19, 1923 in Portland, Oregon to Vere Painter & Clare Thamann. She was a daughter of an Army Colonel. She graduated high school in Philadelphia, PA, then attended Penn State University and graduated with a degree in home economics.

In 1945 Barbara married Lyle Adelbert Baker, together they had 4 sons. She was then married to Everett Johnson in 1990. 

She was a member of P.E.O of Turlock, Know The Truth, Tuesday Reading Club, and Light Of Christ Lutheran Church. 

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Everett Johnson, her sons, Robert (Catherine) Baker, Gary (Lynette) Baker, Scott Baker, Daughter-in-Law, Eleni Baker, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  

She is preceded in death by her first husband Lyle, son Richard grandson Jordan and daughter-in-law Florence. 

Visitation will be held on from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday, May 1st at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Turlock Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. at Turlock Funeral Home on Friday, May 2nd.
