Cheryl was called home by the Lord 11:11AM on April 7, 2014.  She passed peacefully away with her husband and family all around her at Alexander Cohen Hospice in Hughson. 

Cheryl was born in Turlock, California, graduated from Turlock High School in 1971, attended Modesto Junior College,  Shen then left college to work in the church missions field in Peru, upon returning to the US she met the love of her life, Antone Perry, on a blind date, set up by his brother Tom, she married Antone in 1975. 

When her son Jon was old enough, she felt she needed to go back to work, obtaining a job with Catholic Charities of Modesto, where she became an ombundsmen and supervisor for their homemaker program.  She loved helping the elderly, loved her job.  

She was an excellent cook, cooking many wonderful meals for her family and family gatherings, loved helping out with her son’s activities in sports and schoolwork, volunteering to help at the Gratton Barbeque, being a team mom for the sports teams, taking her son to extra summer classes at Modesto Junior College.Attended Bethel Temple in Turlock, when she moved to Hughson started attending Big Valley Grace Church in Modesto, where the only thing to complain about was the drive there and back, with Sylvan always being torn up or under repair.  The friends she met there would be with her always.

She is survived by her parents Robert and Donna Knapp, sister Karen (Ted) Pede, brother Don Knapp, husband Antone Perry, son Jon Perry, brothers-in-law Bill Jackson, Manuel Perry, John Perry, preceded in death by Tom Perry, sisters-in-law Mary Jackson, Terry Perry, Cathy Perry, Elizabeth Ponches, Barbara Mahan and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Catholic Charities Senior Services and Alexander Cohen Hospice.

A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 23rd at the Venue at Big Valley Grace Community Church, 4040 Tully Rd, Modesto, CA.
