Clair Willson Reavis, 80, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, California. Clair was born in Willits, California to Clair and Marjorie Reavis. He grew up in Oakland and graduated from Oakland Technical High School with continued studies at Merritt Jr. College. Clair had numerous summer jobs growing up including his favorite at the Heinz Food processing plant. Clair worked in the warehouse industry including 37 years at Capwell's Department Store in Oakland. Clair's dedication in his work allowed him to retire in management in 1990.
Clair loved to travel. He loved to drive the back roads of California and discover the history of the towns and people where he travelled. His family admired his knowledge of the California back roads and enjoyed listening to his stories of his travels. He was very family oriented and well loved. His distinguished laugh along with a gentle personality Clair made friends easily, he will be greatly missed by all who crossed his path. On the night he passed away he asked his brother to open the blinds of his room. He said, "I want to let the angels come in to take me."
Clair was preceded in death by his parents. Three siblings survive him: Bernice Glaser of Folsom, Wayne Reavis of Hawaii, and Sally Armenta of Vacaville, and many extended family members. Memorials may be considered for the Covenant Village Benevolent Fund, 2125 N. Olive, Turlock, CA 95382. A family memorial gathering is planned on Clair's birthday in August in El Dorado Hills, CA.
