Darlene M. Avila, 51, passed away on Sept. 21, 2017 and has joined her husband Rick in heaven.  Darlene was born July 17, 1966 in Hammond, Louisiana to Glenn and Sharon Passman.  At age 13, Darlene’s family relocated to Delhi, California. Here Darlene would finish school and begin working for Olde Tyme Pastries in Turlock as a cake decorator. She married Rick Avila on October 28, 1989. They shared 25 years of marriage before Rick passed away in 2014. Darlene also taught at a vocational school for a while before accepting a job with The County of Stanislaus as a Child Support Officer where she worked for 15 years. Nothing was better than the time Darlene spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking and cake decorating and caring for her pet love birds and miniature parrot, “Lava”. Traveling to Arizona to visit her best friend Darlene was also a source of joy for her.  Darlene was a wonderful daughter, sister, mom, grandmother and a great friend to many. She will be greatly missed fondly and remembered.

Darlene is preceded in death by her husband Rick and her father Glenn Passman. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Sharon Newton, 6 children: Richard, Sara, Alex, Stephanie, Aime and Julie. 2 sisters: Tina Passman and Karen Passman. Her best friend Darlene Watkins Forward, 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 4:00pm at Allen Mortuary in Turlock.
