Dorothy Whittum, age 90 was called home to be with her Lord on April 16th, 2012 in Modesto CA. She was born and raised on a farm in Minnesota.
Dorothy was a dedicated pastor's wife who served the Lord with her husband. She loved being surrounded by God's creation and enjoyed camping in the mountains with her family and flower gardening at her home. She and her husband Roy enjoyed many trips together in their motor home. Dorothy enjoyed having people in their home, was a great cook and provided many meals for family and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Roy of almost 64 years.
She is survived by her sisters, Donna Koehler and Betty Mathis and brother Tom Walker; daughters Charla (Martin) Zuhlke and Vonda (Les) Soderlund; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Burial will be private at Turlock Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at Crosspoint Community Church, 12th and Needham Ave on Saturday, April 28th at 2:30 pm.
Donations can be made in her name to Crosspoint Community Church, Modesto Gospel Mission or Casa de Modesto.
