Eddie (Red) Olvera was born in Fresno, California to Ruben and Josephine Rodriguez on April 25, 1949.  His family moved to Turlock in 1950 and he lived here until he went to serve in the US Army in 1968. After serving in Viet Nam, he returned and became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) where he met and married Jan Esau in 1984 and they would have celebrated their 30th anniversary next year. Eddie is survived by his two daughters Savannah and Samantha and a step-daughter Lisa;  three grandchildren Julyeen, Jasmine and Alex and one great granddaughter Ava.  He is also survived by one brother, Max (Linda) Olvera, two sisters, Della Rodriguez and Rachel Mendoza and many beloved nephews and nieces. Eddie was a true daddy for his daughters!  In grade school, there was not a field trip he did not attend or a class project he did not support.  He was an active PTA parent and officer in the organization. He also attended Wakefield School’s Outdoor Education Program at Camp Sylvester for ten years because he believed it was an excellent learning experience.  Eddie believed in all kids!  He touched many hearts in so many ways it would be impossible to list them all.  Eddie put his faith and believed in our Lord and fought a brave battle.  His love for his family and friends will never be forgotten.  Rest in Peace, Red!! Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Tuesday, November 5th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 6th at 10:30am at Allen Mortuary, a graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 1:30pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
