Visitation for Elias C. Sanchez, 82, of Turlock, will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 22 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel in Turlock. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. A mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons St., Turlock. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
Mr. Sanchez was a truck driver for 45 years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock. He was in the Army Air Corps, and enjoyed fishing, gold panning and story telling. He and his wife used to work in the flea markets for many years.
He is survived by his son, Eli Sanchez of Encinitas, Calif.; daughter, Linda Olson of Turlock; brothers, Tony Velaquez of Idaho, Martin Sanchez of Turlock and Joe Velaquez of City of Orange; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adela C. Sanchez in August 2002.
