Emma Grace Johnston passed away on Saturday, June 12 of natural causes. Emma was born in Scott County, Ark. on Jan. 26, 1920, the daughter of Birk Jefferson and Alice Damon Ward. She was the wife of Victor A. Johnston (deceased) of Turlock.
Emma was a student of Anthony Real Estate School and continued her education at San Jose State College and Modesto Junior College. She was owner and broker of Johnston Reality of Turlock. She served as secretary and later became the first female president of the Turlock Board of Realtors in 1976 and state director. She was a member of the Turlock Chamber of Commerce, American Business Women's Association (Charter) and Home Builder Assn.
Emma is survived by her children, Doyle W. of Boulder, Colo., Rita LaJune (Grove) of Victorville and Ferrel Dee of Turlock. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
