Oakdale

Gene, 78 of Oakdale passed away suddenly.
Born in Oakland, CA. Gene grew up in Turlock, CA. Graduating from Turlock High School in 1951. Shortly after he joined the United States Coast Guard where he served from 1952-1956, he met and married his Wife of 56 years Darlene Selix. Soon after they moved to Modesto where he worked for Hanson’s Inc. for 23 years. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #442 for over 50 years. He and Darlene found there “little slice of heaven” in Oakdale where they have called home for the past 14 years.
 Gene is survived by his wife Darlene, son Mark (Anita) Niel, Daughters Kelly (Mark) Klaver, Karen (Vern) Serpa. 8 Grand children and 4 Great Grand children, a sister Barbara and many nieces and nephews.
  Services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West “F” St., Oakdale, California.
