Harvey Humphrey, 85, of Modesto, passed away at Evergreen Rehabilitation Care Center. He was one of 11 children born to Joseph and Bertha Humphrey in Rupert County, Ark. In the late 30s they moved to California. He joined the Army in 1943, and served in World War II. After the Army, Harvey added some college classes. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the NRA and a former member of the VFW.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yvonne, in 2006; and several siblings.

He is survived by his daughter, Marie Collins of Ceres; siblings, Myrtle Renecker of Grants Pass, Ore., Ruby Snyder of Ceres, Harley Humphrey of Modesto and Levi Humphrey of Redway, Calif.; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at Allen Mortuary. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.  Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
