The Turlock Police Department received 488 total calls, 396 calls for service and reported 97 officer-initiated calls from Aug. 21-23, 2026.

The department took 49 reports, responded to 15 traffic collisions and made 16 arrests.

Shift reports for Aug. 21-23, 2026:

— Aug. 21: Day shift completed 8 reports including one vandalism, one theft, one auto theft and two burglaries. An officer was conducted extra patrols in the area of downtown and observed a male possibly looking into vehicles. The officer contacted the subject who was found to have two warrants for his arrest. It was determined no crimes had been committed however because of the subject's warrants, he was booked into jail. Swing shift completed three reports including one assault and battery and one public intoxication. Graveyard shift completed five reports including one public intoxication and two assaults and battery. An officer made a bike stop on a male who had a felony warrant for his arrest. The male resisted but was ultimately placed under arrest and booked into jail. Officers responded to a parking lot where a male sprayed another male with pepper spray. The male was placed under arrest and booked into jail. Officers responded to an assault between a male and female. Officers located the male a short distance away from the residence who was determined to be the responsible party in the assault. He was placed under arrest and booked into jail.

— Aug. 23: Day shift completed two reports including one larceny and one hit and run. Swing shift completed 11 reports including three larcenies, two narcotics calls, one assault and battery and two damaged property calls. Sunday was a very active shift for the swing shift crew, according to the shift report. Officers responded to several incidents of fights and disturbances. During this shift, officers contacted a transient subject who was throwing rocks at various vehicles. He did not have a specific reason for doing this. He was arrested for vandalism and taken to jail. Graveyard shift completed seven reports including one damaged property and two hit and runs. Officers responded to a vandalism in-progress. When officers arrived, they detained a male outside a residence. The male broke two windows to the house while trying to get inside. He also made criminal threats to the reporting party during the incident. He was arrested and booked. Several officers responded to a hit and run where the victim was chasing after the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle eventually collided into a traffic light pole, which caused the power to go out in the whole intersection. The male left the scene on foot but later returned while officers were still on scene. He was arrested for the hit and run, and for driving without a license.
