Howard Gale Porter, 90, went to be with the LORD surrounded by his loving family 9/19/2016. He was born in Opheim, Montana, son of Archie and Gertrude Porter. Grew up in Jamestown, N. Dak. and graduated from Jamestown H.S. in 1944. Served two years in the U.S. Navy and attended Jamestown College before working as telegrapher on the Railroad 11 years. Moved to Calif. in 1959 and worked as a Jet Engine inspector for United Airlines for 28 Yrs. Retired in 1988 in Turlock, CA. Survived by his loving wife, Collen of 68 1/2 yrs., son Dan (Wilma) Porter or Turlock, son Gary Porter of Quincy, CA and daughter Pamela (Ed Brennan) of Oakdale; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Howard served and worshiped God at New Life Christian Center for 28 yrs. Howard loved music, traveling, gardening and gatherings with family and friends. Memorial Services will be at New Life Christian Center at 10:30 AM Saturday, Sept. 24th. Any memorial contributions are suggested for “Imagine” at NLCC.
