Ilda Fontes Dias was born on Sept. 30, 1924 in Pico Azores. She died on March 4, 2010 in Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. She was 85 years old.
She was a Homemaker for 50 years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock.
She is survived by daughters Maria de Fatima Andrade of Turlock ,Maria Garcia and her husband Carlos of Hilmar and Ilda Barbosa of Brasil; brothers Humberto da Fonte and Jose da Fonte of Fresno and Caetano Fontes of Mass.; sisters Francisco Garcia of Fresno, Leonor da Fonte and Felisbela Fontes of Faial, Azores; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Antonio Silveira and Jose Dias; and her son Fernando Silveira.
Visitation will be at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 10. A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main St, Turlock. Burial will be at Mission Memorial Park-Seaside.
