Jack passed away on November 18, 2016 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, surrounded by his family.
Jack was born to Jack and Florence Yorker on November 24, 1939 in Syracuse, New York.
He was the middle of their three children. The family lived in up-state New York on the family farm until moving to Santa Anna California. Jack graduated from Santa Anna High School where he lettered in Football and Baseball. Jack enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America affiliated with Yale University and earned his degree in Hotel Management. After graduation Jack joined the United States Air Force for which he proudly served from 1959-1963. During his time in the service he met the love of his life Suzanne Shafer and on June 8, 1963 he took her hand in marriage.
Jack and Suzanne started their life together in Fullerton, CA and there they welcomed their first child Michelle Diane in 1965. Jack worked for Kimberly Clark where he was a Supervisor. They purchased their first home in La Habra CA and welcomed two more children Katherine Lynn in 1969 and Michael Ryan in 1972. They moved to Placentia CA were Jack helped start the first neighborhood CB watch program. The family moved again to Turlock, CA where together they raised their family.
Jack worked for Auto-Weigh scales which allowed him to travel the world. When he felt it was time to stay closer to home Jack got his Class A license and traveled the western states working for many great trucking companies.
Jack was a member of VFW post 5059 Turlock, CA, Ducks Unlimited and California Water-Fowl club were with his good friend Ron Pierce worked tirelessly on children’s gun safety program. For many years Jack also was a couch for Turlock Girls Softball Association.
Jack in preceded in death by his Parents, Brother Ronald Yorker, and Grandson Seth William Cruz.
Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years Suzanne Yorker Turlock CA, Sister Hazel (Bob) Boydstun Chico TX, Daughters Michelle Yorker and Katherine (Constantino) Cruz Modesto, Michael Yorker San Francisco CA. Granddaughters Kandace Way, Turlock and Jessica Aguiar, Modesto, CA Great-Grandsons Ryan Smith and Cylus Grigsby. Jack is also survived by 7 extended children that he was proud they called him Grumpy Papa.
Celebration of Life and Reception will be at Allen Mortuary on Saturday December 3rd at 1 pm.
