James Frank Ahlborn passed on Wednesday at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.  

He was born in San Mateo on May 23, 1952.  He graduated from Pleasant Hill High in 1970 and earned a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of LaVerne.  He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Vandenberg Airbase in California.  He was a proud member of the California Highway Patrol from 1977 until his medical retirement in 1993.  

He is survived by his son, Brian Ahlborn and stepdaughter, Jenni Johnson, both of Livermore; his twin brother, Rick Ahlborn of Turlock, also retired from the CHP; and his loving girlfriend, Sandy McGowan.  

His memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7 at Turlock Funeral Home Chapel, 425 N. Soderquist Rd.  Interment will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
