James Robert Davenport passed away on October 2, 2015. He was 82.
Jim was born on March 19, 1933 in Colorado to Orla “Jack” and Dorothy Davenport. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in French Morocco. Jim met his wife of 62 years, Margaret Ester Bernice Lund, in 1951 in Eureka, Ca. Together they were members and active participants in the Eureka Covenant Church, San Francisco First Covenant Church, founding members of Redwood Covenant Church, in Santa Rosa, and Scotts Valley Covenant Church. Jim was also an active member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors from 1959 to 2004.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Barbara Coffee, Mahlon Davenport, and Opal Hamilton. James is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret, his daughter Linnae Davenport, and his son, Randy Davenport.
A memorial service will be held October 10, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Berg Hall in Covenant Village of Turlock, 2125 N. Olive Ave.
