John Isaac was born in Baquba, Iraq to Isaac and Nano.  He spent his childhood in several cities in Iraq, attending school and learning English. In 1942 he met the love of his life, Mary Yadgar, and married her.
They were blessed by having one daughter and four sons.  In 1956 John and his family moved to London, England, where he worked in the high position as clerical officer for the British Ministry of Defense until his retirement.
In 1980 John and Mary immigrated to the United States and settled in Turlock.  He was a member of the St. Addai Assyrian Church of the East and served as the treasurer for many years. John was the president of the Welcome Committee. He was a member of the Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock. He served as treasurer as well as a board member for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Marlene; sons, Banipal, Ashur, Sargon and Ninos Isaac; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18 at Larsa Hall, Assyrian Church of the East.  Interment to follow at Turlock Memorial  Park and Funeral Home.
