Born to Arvin Prentice and Mary Ann (Kidd) Ralston, Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky. In 1918 they moved by train to Patterson, California, where she attended schools and met and married Max Elbert Denny (1913 - 1997). They moved to Livingston in 1950.

Survived by son, Glen Ralston Denny and his wife Margaret; daughters Ellen Ann Denny and Elaine Lee Thurman and her husband Walter; grandson Scott Jeffrey Denny, step-grandchildren Michael and Mason Mineni, and Amanda and Max Thurman; nieces Lee Palsak, Julianne Forer, and Jacqueline Willis; and many friends.
