Kay Blomquist (87) passed away Nov 25, 2021. Kay was born in Turlock California  on July 14, 1934 to Emanuel “Mannie” and Viola Soderstrom. Kay graduated from Turlock High school in 1952 and married  her high school sweetheart, John “Jack” Blomquist. Kay and Jack lived many places in California over the course of their life together and spent summer vacations camping and boating with friends and family. Kay and Jack were active members of the local covenant church wherever they lived. Kay was a gifted pianist, avid gardener and florist. She lived at Covenant Village in Turlock after her husband died in 2012, until 6 months before her death when she moved to the Covenant Living facility in Northbrook, IL to be near her daughter for the last months of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emanuel and Viola Soderstrom, her husband “Jack” and son Brian Blomquist, and is survived by her sister Shirlee Hill of Auburn, son Michael (Leslie) Blomquist, daughter Stacy (Michael) Bichl, daughter-in-law Jeannette Blomquist,  9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her good nature, open heart, welcoming smile, and her faithful love for her family, her garden and her music. A memorial service for Kay will be held at Turlock Funeral Home on February 12, 2022 at 11:00.
