Mary Dell Washburn Latif Watson, 71, of Turlock, died Oct. 28 at Turlock Nursing & Rehab Center. A private service will be held.
Mary Dell was born in Reedley, Calif. to G. Edwin and Sarah Washburn. She graduated from Turlock High School in 1956, attended UOP and the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was married and raised two children in Turlock, went to London, England in 1983, and married Peter Watson in 1985. She resided in the country north of London at Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire for 20 years, and returned to Turlock in 2006. Mary Dell suffered from Alzheimer’s disease the last several years, but died peacefully on Oct. 28. She enjoyed her cats, gardening and cross stitching.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Peter Watson of Turlock; son, Monty Latif and his wife, Jenny, of Turlock; daughter, Jenifer Latif of Turlock; sister, Sue Washburn of Turlock; and grandchildren, Cody Latif and Theron Latif. She was preceded in death by her brother, George Washburn.
