Cooper
Mary Cooper, 88, of Oakdale, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House. She was born in Thief River Falls, Minn. to John and Martha Baker, the 12th of their 13 children. She grew up in Minnesota until 1943, when she met and married the love of her life, James M. Cooper in 1946.
Mary enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling. She had many bowling friends at Yosemite and McHenry Lanes. Mary’s greatest joy was spending time with her husband and family. During her final years she lived in Oakdale with her daughter and son-in-law. She will be extremely missed by her family and dear friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, all of her brothers and sisters, and by her beloved husband Jim in 1998. She is survived by her children, James Cooper of Oregon, Richard (Rhonda) Cooper of Livermore and Judith (Rob) Roberson of Oakdale; grandchildren, Scott (Melody) Roberson, Jennifer (Claudio Jr.) Silva and Jon Cooper; great grandchildren, Matthew, Adam, Brooke and Devin; and by niece, Lori Baker-Jones, and nephew, Brian Baker and their families in Morgan Hill.
A private service will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be considered for Community Hospice of Modesto or a charity of your choice.
Mary’s family wants to thank the physicians, nurses, and staff members of Kaiser and Community Hospice for their professional, loving care.
