Mary Perry, 99, of Modesto passed away on Saturday, March 24 in Turlock. She was born in Hayward, CA to Antone and Mary Damas in 1912.  She had lived in Denair, Hughson and Modesto since 1917. Mary had served during WWII in the Army Air Corps WAC and later ran a dairy with her husband and children for 29 years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hughson, SPRSI #96, YLI #193, UPPEC #56, Luso-American #2950, Turlock VFW Post 5059 the Ladies Auxiliary and the Altar Society. She sacrificed her life for the church and family.
She is survived by her children Mary Jackson of Ceres, Catherine Perry of Alaska, Manuel Perry of Modesto, Elizabeth Punchios of Arizona, Antone Perry of Waterford, John Perry of Modesto and Barbara Mahan of Georgia; brother George Damas of Modesto; 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Perry; son Thomas Perry II; grandson Aaron Mahan and 5 siblings.
A visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Sunday, April 1 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm with rosary following. A mass of Christian burial will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Monday, April 2 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
