Mavis Kronberg, 92, died peacefully in Turlock. Mavis was born in Trade Lake, Wisconsin, the oldest of five siblings to Carl and Esther (Larson) Brask. She was raised in rural Wisconsin, earned a teaching certificate, and taught in a one-room schoolhouse. In 1948 she married Joe Kronberg and moved to the Kronberg farm in Hilmar where they worked side by side and raised four boys.
Later she worked for the Hilmar Unified School District for 22 years, first as a teacher's aide and then as a baker in the school cafeteria. Mavis moved from the farm to Covenant Village in Turlock and spent the last several years in the Covenant Care facility. The family is very grateful to the attentive staff for the love and wonderful care she received. She was an active member of the Hilmar Covenant Church.
Mavis was preceded in death by her husband Joe and oldest son Ron. She is survived by three sons and much-loved daughters-in-law: Charles (Madeline) Kronberg of Clovis, CA, Virgil (Christi) Kronberg of Hilmar, and Wayne (Genna) Kronberg of Hilmar, three grandchildren: Neil, Kari, and Kristen; sister Arleth Erickson of Grantsburg, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews.
