Wanda Maxine Wente passed away at the age of 77 in Turlock. She was born in Fletcher, Okla. and later settled in California where she graduated from Ceres High School and later settled in Turlock.

Maxine was known as "GiGi" to her seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  She loved children and enjoyed the time she spent babysitting children from the church and her own family. Maxine was a member of Mitchell Community Church and was very involved in the Women's Mission Society at church.

Maxine is survived by her children, Doug (Sami) Wente of Livingston and Diane (Roger) Parks of Turlock; siblings, Frank Malone of  Ceres and Darlene Hardy of Wister, Okla.; grandchildren, Derek,  Dustin, Nathan, Kris, Silence, Brian and Michele; and eight great  grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, August Wente; and her parents.

Viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 3 at Allen Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, also at Allen Mortuary, with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial
Park.
