Oscar Fredolf Johnson, 85, of Madera, went to be with the LORD peacefully on Mon., Jan. 9, at Madera Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Oscar was born and raised in Turlock.  After graduating from Turlock High School he joined the U. S. Army during World War II.  After the war he found his lifelong occupation in carpentry and supervised many construction projects in the San Francisco Bay area.  He enjoyed golfing with his sons, long drives with his wife Betty, exploring the United States and Canada, playing Bingo, and spending time with his family and many friends.
Oscar is survived by his sons, Barry Johnson of Paso Robles and Kevin Johnson of Deltona, FL, sisters Violet Roselle and Gloria Johnson, both of Modesto, five grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Anna Johnson, his beloved wife, Betty, brother Verner, and sisters Thelma Gaylord and Erleen Walner.
Family and close friends will attend a private graveside service with military honors at Turlock Memorial Park.
Services are under the direction of Turlock Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
