Paul E. Springer passed away at home in Turlock, California, on July 3, 2021, at the age of 78. He was retired from the ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church. 

Born in 1942 in Upland, Indiana to Rev. Harold Springer and Kathryn “Kitty” Smith Springer, Paul was the first of three children. He moved to Turlock when Rev. Harold was administrator of Emanuel Hospital. 

In 1970, Paul married Karen Genseal. Together, they moved to Chicago where Paul studied at North Park Theological Seminary. They took pastorships in Michigan, South San Francisco, Cleveland, St. Petersburg, and finally Turlock, where he eventually retired. Karen passed away in 2011 after 41 years of marriage. 

Paul married Susan Jacobson Lindahl in September of 2012. Paul became “GrandPaul” to her four grandchildren. From 2016 to 2019, Paul and Sue relocated to Kenbridge, Virginia, to be near his family. Paul and Sue have resided in Turlock since their return. 

Paul is survived by his wife, Susan Springer of Turlock; siblings, Robert Springer (Kim) of Virginia and Nancy Springer Lambert of Florida; several nieces and nephews in Virginia; step-son, Brett Lindahl (Julie) and step-daughter, Janelle Lindahl Comfort; and four step-grandsons. 

Paul was laid to rest privately at Turlock Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church, 2619 N. Berkeley Ave., Turlock.
