Suzanne Marie Lazar was born at Emanuel Hospital on September 20, 1961, to John and Julia Lazar.

Suzanne grew up on her family’s walnut ranch north of Turlock until they moved to town when she became a 5th grade student.

She attended Keyes Elementary School, Julien School, Brown Junior High School, and Turlock High School. Suzanne also attended California State University, Stanislaus.

Suzanne was employed as the Senior Credentials Analyst for the Stanislaus County Office of Education.

She had planned to retire in April after 33 years of service.

Suzanne positively impacted many aspiring teacher applicants whom were credentialed through the Office of Education.

Hers was a service friendly attitude to anyone needing assistance.

Suzanne enjoyed people. There were many whose lives she touched and stayed in contact during her 61 years on Earth.

Suzanne enjoyed gardening, walking her dog, Lassie, working on crafts and visiting people with her mother, Julia.

She was active in the Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock, and enjoyed being a choreographer for the dance troupe. Among other volunteer positions, she served on the organization’s board of directors.

Suzanne also loved the Stanislaus County Fair, had worked in the fair office during her high school years, and volunteered in many capacities during fair time.

Governor Gray Davis appointed Suzanne to a term on the Fair Board in the 1990’s.

Suzanne is survived by her mother, Julia; her brothers, Michael (Donna), John (Nellie), her twin brother, Edward (Charmaine), and seven nephews: Michael, Vincent, Nicholas, Andrew, David, Alexander, and Christopher. She leaves behind many close family, friends, and neighbors.

Among those are her loving cousins, Anita and Robert Eshoo, Nancy Goodman, Ron Sargis, Marlene Lazar, Michelle Lazar, and Mark Lazar. Very dear to her was her dog, Lassie, and cat, Mota.

Suzanne attended St. Francis Episcopal Church. Services will be held at Turlock Funeral Home on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 2 p.m. Remembrances may be made to The Suzanne M. Lazar
