Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed peacefully into her heavenly father April 29, 2014. Virgie Mae Hubbard was born May 21, 1929 in Wewoka, OK to parents William and Zado Upton. She married Emmett Hubbard in 1944 in Oklahoma. Shortly after the marriage they moved to California. They began their work in the ministry in 1953. Traveling evangelist then Pastored in Salinas for 18 years, Pentecostal Tabernacle Pastored in Merced, Calvary Temple for 19 years and retired in 1994.

Mae was very devoted and supportive of her husband’s ministry, teaching Sunday school, young adult class and counseling young couples. Everyone loved her teaching.

Mom loved traveling (Israel/ Hawaii), playing cards with her family, watching her favorite SF Giants. She was a miraculous homemaker, and wonderful cook.

Our family is fortunate to have had such a caring and loving mother that left us with so many wonderful memories.

Mae is survived by her husband Emmett Hubbard, daughters Janice Reese (Mike) Judy Minor (Ken), 5 grandchildren Dennis Brown, Eddie Minor, Bridget Minor Fullington, Mark Reese, Stephanie Reese Williams and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Zado Upton, her three brothers and two sisters.

Special thanks to the staff at Brandel Manor and especially Jacki, Julianna and April.
