After a record-breaking season in 2009, this year’s Cal State Stanislaus men’s soccer team is expected to be a serious threat in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
In the preseason coaches poll, the Warriors were picked to finish second in the conference’s North Division and is expected to earn a spot in the CCAA Championships — which will be held in early November at Warrior Stadium.
Stanislaus also earned one first-place vote.
In 2009, the Warriors finished with an 8-6-2 conference record under then first-year coach Dana Taylor.
In other preseason coaches polls, the Stanislaus women’s soccer team was picked to fifth in the CCAA’s North Division, while the Warriors volleyball team was voted to finish last in the conference out of 12 teams.
