All good things must come to an end as the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team’s unbeaten streak to start the season was snapped on Saturday night at Sonoma State.
The Seawolves defeated the Warriors in three sets, 25-16, 25-11, 25-13. It was Stanislaus' first loss of the season after starting 4-0.
The Warriors are now 4-1 overall and 1-1 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play. Sonoma State improves to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCAA.
Jennifer Marsh led the Warriors with six kills on a night where Lianne Vicchio had just five kills. Melissa Bishop chipped in four kills with four blocks. Madison Moss led the team with 12 digs.
Keala Peterson had 14 kills to lead Sonoma State.
Stanislaus returned to action late Tuesday, when the Warriors faced Notre Dame de Namur as part of a three-match week at home, a stretch that include matches against Cal Poly Pomona and San Francisco State this weekend.
