Even against winless Humboldt State, the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team didn’t take it easy on the opponent and came away with its home first California Collegiate Athletic Association win on Saturday night at Warrior Arena.

The Warriors earned the victory in four sets (23-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-14).

Stanislaus — which improved to 2-2 in the conference and 5-4 overall — was once again led by junior outside hitter Lianne Vicchio, who finished with 17 kills, 11 digs and two blocks. She was supported by Andrea Fett and Melissa Bishop, who each collected two blocks and seven kills, while Kaycee Gow shined at the net with six kills and five blocks.

It all contributed to Humboldt State’s final results: 0-4 in the CCAA, 0-8 overall.

Last season, the Warriors didn’t get their second conference win until the 10th game.

Stanislaus continues conference action with a matchup at Chico State (2-2 CCAA, 7-3 overall) tonight before once again playing host to Cal State East Bay (3-2, 8-2) on Friday and UC San Diego (2-3, 5-4) at Warrior Arena; all matches begin at 7 p.m.
