In the 27th Atch Pedretti Tournament last week, the Turlock High baseball team outscored opponents 34-3. That’s just one example of how dominant the Bulldogs have been.

In Saturday’s championship game at Turlock High, the Bulldogs also didn’t have a problem as they defeated Oakdale High 6-2 after exploding for all their runs in the first inning. The win signified Turlock’s second consecutive tournament title, and 10th overall.

Turlock’s Dylan Silva got the win on the mound to earn a 3-0 record, while Ryan Cumberland went 2-for-3 and both James Heller and Nick Voumard finished with an RBI each. It all helped the Bulldogs finish with a 6-0 overall record entering this week, as they played Buhach Colony High on Tuesday in the Central California Conference opener.

The Bulldogs’ other two tournament games resulted in a 21-1 blowout win over Johansen High in the first round and a 7-0 shutout over Sonora High in the semifinals of the  eight-team tournament.

After suffering a close 4-3 loss in the tournament opener against Lodi, Pitman High bounced back with two big wins to capture the consolation championship. The Pride beat Modesto 11-0 in five innings before finishing the tournament with a 9-3 win over Lincoln High.
