Hilmar cross country ends TVL finals with multiple PRs

Hilmar High’s cross-country team concluded league play in the Trans-Valley League last Wednesday when they traveled to Tuolumne Regional Park.

By the conclusion of the day, Hilmar's varsity girls placed fourth as a team while the boys took third.

Ariana Lara-Chavez had the top finish for the girls side after she placed 7th, running a 21:53. Rose Santos finished with a time of 24:18, nearly 40 seconds better than her previous record and placed 21st.

Senior Lara-Chavez earned an individual medal during the awards ceremony.

On the boys side, leading the way into the finish line was Jon Muller, who took fourth with a time of 17:41, dropping 38 seconds off his previous time, and only three seconds away from first place.

The next best finish on the boys side was Jonathan Chavez (17:52), who took 10th. Ethan Barcelos followed in 11th with a time of 17:53.

Muller, Chavez, Barcelos, and Alberto Alves all earned individual medals for Hilmar.
