Turlock, Pitman cross country conclude CCC competition

Turlock and Pitman's cross-country teams finished the Central California Conference season this past Wednesday from Donnelly Park.

In the end, Turlock girls took fourth while Pitman placed sixth. On the varsity boys side, Turlock took fifth in league, while Pitman took sixth.

Merced won on the varsity girls side and Atwater won for the boys.

On the frosh/soph standings, Turlock boys won the CCC while Pitman finished close second in both boys and girls.

Turlock varsity boys’ best finish came from Uriel Alvarez, who placed 15th as a junior. Marc Carrizales finished in 19.

For the Pitman boys, the top result came from Jordan Tasho, who placed 26th. Geovanny Aceves took 31st.

On the girls side, Pitman saw the best outcome of both schools with a third place finish. Teammate Mikayla Perry took 17th.

Mavleen Mann (Pitman) and Turlock's Hope Salsig earned first team All-League honors.

Gavin Valenzuela won with a season best time.

On the girls side, Cynthia Varela came in second, followed closely by Phoebe Santos to edge out a tough and every improving Pitman squad who look to do well in postseason.
