Nuts begin 4-game homestand today

The Modesto Nuts did not have a memorable Memorial Day — in the good sense.

With pitcher Chad Bettis giving up 11 hits and nine earned runs, the Nuts lost 11-7 to Inland Empire on Monday. They looked to bounce back on Tuesday night in the last of the three-game series at 66ers’ home field.

The Nuts will begin a four-game homestand today at John Thurman Field in Modesto against the Lancaster Jethawks at 7:05 p.m. Modesto has 18 more games left until hosting the 2011 All-Star Smash on June 21.
