Volleyball sweeps Humboldt State in straight sets

ARCATE -- Lianne Vicchio had 16 kills and Andrea Fett added 10 as the Warriors defeated Humboldt State in straight sets, 25-18, 25-17, 25-19, Friday night at Lumberjack Arena.

The Warriors improved to 11-9 overall and 8-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association before heading to Rohnert Park to play Sonoma State Saturday night. Humboldt State is now 1-17, 1-13 in the CCAA.

"Communication played a big roll in our win today," said junior outside hitter and team captain
Lianne Vicchio. "Everyone contributed in their own way to get the exciting win."

Vicchio had nine digs to go with her night, which included a .344 hitting percentage. She had five errors on 32 attempts. Evan Chafeh had eight kills and 11 digs.
Megan Britton led with 15 digs. Jessica Lehner dished 36 assists.

The Warriors recorded 10 block assists to the Lumberjacks none.
Melissa Bishop led Stanislaus with three block assists.

Oceana Matsubu had eight kills and Brooke Ferguson had 12 digs to lead the Lumberjacks.
