Week 5 saw the Turlock Youth Football 49ers host the Livingston Wolves - and dominate the entire day, not allowing the Wolves to score during any of the games.
A full day of shutout victories for the 49ers definitely brightened the otherwise cold and rainy weather on Saturday. Pee Wee shut out the Wolves 39-0. JV destroyed the Wolves 56- 0; and Varsity crushed the wolf pack 46-0.
This week's feature game is the JV 49ers. Although Head Coach Will Mathews has been leading his team for six years, this was his first time calling the offensive plays.
The first quarter of Saturday's matchup, the Wolves were deflated with a 32-0 deficit. The punishment did not stop there, as the 49ers offense scored on every possession. The Niners' defense added to the stellar performance with five turnovers and recovering an onside kick.
Coach Mathews actively played two quarterbacks, Paslay and Pritchard. Both quarterbacks threw TD passes to two different receivers Faria and Cruz. Players Faria, Pritchard, and Robinson all scored running TDs against the Wolves, and Holman scored two. Robinson and the rest of the PAT members had a perfect game, making every point they attempted.
Next week the 49ers will host the Manteca Jaguars at Joe Debely Stadium. Rookies at 1:30pm, Pee Wee at 3 p.m., JV at 5 p.m. and Varsity at 7 p.m.
The Vikings traveled to Atwater on Saturday to take on the Buhach Thunder. Pee Wees rocked the Thunder 54-0, while JV may have had too much cold weather to overcome a defeat of 0-20.
The Varsity Viking team pounded the Thunder 32- 0 in the first half. The Thunder tried to make a comeback, but were unable to overcome the Viking lead. The final score read 32- 14. Next week the Vikings travel to Livingston to take on the Wolves that are licking their wounds after being beaten by the 49ers.
