A Turlock man was arrested on Sunday when he was found in possession of a small pipe bomb, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Robsan Gratton, 44, was charged with possession of a destructive device.

Officers made contact with Gratton around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Sunbird for a bike stop.

During a search, officers found the small pipe bomb, with Gratton allegedly calling it a “homemade firecracker.”

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad handled the removal of the device and Gratton was taken into custody without incident.
