Bull semen taken in Turlock theft
TPD crime scene pic2

Four tanks of high value bull semen were stolen out of a pickup truck in Turlock.

The semen is used for artificial insemination across the world and comes from bulls rated as genetically superior. The 3,500 units stolen has an estimated value of $50,000 or more.

The tanks were stored in a work truck under a locked camper shell. It’s possible the thief or thieves didn’t know what they were stealing because they siphoned gas out of the same truck. The theft occurred on La Sombra Court during the early morning hours of Jan. 17.

The semen is stored in tanks with liquid nitrogen, which can cause severe frostbite injuries or cryogenic burns.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Turlock Police Department at 668-5550.
